Collecting the funny or interesting stuffs we love could be a fantastic experience in our life. Nowadays, there are thousands and thousands of collections for fans of various items. They collect stamp, rocks, bones, artworks, toys and tons of other types. Some even go a little far to collect the weird things like animal excrement, girls’ hairs at the private part. Today, we are going to introduce something new for collectors. It’s custom bobblehead. Different from the sport bobblehead or movable figures collection, all of the bobbleheads they collect are custom made. Every one is one and an only masterpiece.

The craze of bobble head collecting emerged in 1970’s when the MLB released the first serials of team bobbles for the celebrity in the league. It was a big hit and started a crazy trend in the league. All most all the teams copy the means to promote their games by making players bobbles. At the very beginning, it was pretty costy to make the bobbleheads for the clubs. So, the bobbleheads released at 1970’s considered to be treasures by the bobble fans. Some of them become very valuable today. The most expensive sold bobbleehad was Gaylord Perry’s bobblehead which was sold at 17,000 USD in Sports treasure auctions 2012.

Needless to say, the rarer the item is the more valuable it will be. For some cases, the franchise, they never release a bobblehead for some famous players. That’s the point some fancier make a custom bobblehead for them. Most of the enthusiastic fans eager to have one to up-grade the level of their collections. Some of them have collected most of the players in Hall of Fame and make each of them into bobblehead. It’s not only for the baseball players, but also for football and basketball. The collectors are now boosting a craze of self-design sport bobbleheads.

Michael Simon is a die hard sport fans who loves to collect all sorts of old school stuffs related to the four sports league. He received a Bob Lanier bobblehead from his friend. “It was the most thrilling and rewarding gift I have ever get” said Michael. He got very excited every time he talk about this funny and precious bobbing head. From that time on, he select his favorite retired players an make them into custom football bobbleheads. “It was huge of fun to see the result of my favorite players’ bobbleheads” he said. He claim that he will spread the custom sport bobblehead culture in the circle of his age, because many of the man born in 1940-1960’s love to see the items related to the great players. The funny figurines definitely bring them the memory of the good old days.
